  1. Reminds me of a couple years ago when my little one & I were splashing around in the water talking about what sounds which animals make (as one is prone to do with 2 year olds). Seeing a kayak nearby I asked her on a whim, “And what does a kayak say?”

“Hello, I’m a kayak!” She answered reasonably.

  2. The correct answer (according to Burn This by Lanford Wilson, which I was totally just reading like, two whole days ago) is “Get lost, waffle. Get thee behind me.”

  3. This is off topic but Burn This is full of great lines, many of them food-related. My favorite is when one character is listing the teas he has and describes one as “tasting like I imagine burnt tires would taste” and another character immediately identifies it as Lapsang Suchong.

If you don’t get it, try a cup sometime.

  4. Awesome! My husband recently told our five year old, “I love you,” and when she didn’t say anything in reply, he said, “What do you say?”

She looked at him with a little wrinkle in her brow and said, “Thanks?”

    Kids are the bestest.
