I received my quarterly Social Security statement today. And while I usually file these things away unread, watching Bush’s SOTU address last night made me wonder if his administration had sneaked any fearmongering language into the standard boilerplate.<\/p>\n

As I understand it, the next step in the reform is to outfit all Social Security offices with flashing red lights and klaxons, and replace the personnel with 50’s era robots that wave their arms above their heads and cry “Danger!
