Problem Solving Skills: On!

This morning I had a tuft of hair sticking up on the back of my head, and no amount of wetting or combing or flattening would get it to stay down. So in my groggy, pre-caffinated state, I conconcted this brilliant plan whereby I covered my head with gel and brushed everything upwards so that all of my hair stood straight up, thereby disguising the wayward tuft.

Now, two cups of coffee later, I realize that I look like an idiot of the hair-sticking-straight-up-into-the-air variety.

Just another example of the analytical reasoning skills that have made me the crackerjack software development engineer I am today.

  1. I’ve had the same problem, and had an even stupider idea. I decided to gel my hair into one of those rock-star messed up on purpose looks.

Nothing screams “Look at me, I’m the Boss! Respect me!” like an unkempt rock star doo.

  2. I think it’s an example of the analytical reasoning skills that occur without two cups of coffee.

  3. I usually grab scissors when this happens and cut off the offending lock.

Then I get “tssked” by my hairdresser.

  4. You were looking freaky when I saw you in the bathroom this morning. I was wondering what the hell was up…

  5. One word: hat.

If your office is formal think fedora, otherwise you can’t go wrong with a baseball cap. If you really want to freak out your coworkers try a ski mask.

  6. A little bit of tufty hair never hurt anybody. Just be thankful you don’t look like the illegitimate offspring of Kenny from South Park and a beaver….

  7. You think thats bad? I’m growing my hair to about shoulder length (Currently 2″ long) and my hair ALWAYS looks unkempt and sticks up, so I’d be thankful for only one tuft…My solution is a mass off spiking gel on my hair, otherwise I have a mop heh. Also, good advice about the “Coffee then thinking” hehe
