This may be treading into the realm of urban myth, but it was my understanding that the player from 2002’s game was not only grievously injured, but critically injured. Thus the real reason for no game in 2003. Can anyone confirm?

Sad about that player in 2002. The Game sounds like the best idea ever, and it sounds like everyone involved with it are just a great bunch of folks. What an experience. I’m sure we all wish we could be so lucky.

Back in the 70s, one of my high school buddies in the San Francisco area was involved in something called “the Rallye.” The goal was to drive your car through a predetermined course faster than anyone else (while observing all posted speed limits), BUT you were given a set of instructions that required both puzzle skills and incredible precision in following directions. (For instance, if the mimeographed sheet said “Turn left on VVilliam Street” and the street sign said “William Street,” you did NOT turn left but instead proceeded to the next direction.) There were several checkpoints you had to find while completing the course. The time I joined him, I think we finished about where you guys finished — third from last. I wonder if the Rallye was the grandfather of the Bay Area Game.
Wow. That sounds like a lot of fun. I would love to take part in something like that. Too bad I don’t live anywhere near Seattle.

after reading that chip is allergic to corn we went back over his application, and strangely he didn’t fill in corn under allergies. maybe he just wanted another plate of bbq. (just kidding)
