  8. I take the onomatopoeic approach to strange “Old Macdonald’s Farm” requests. Therefore applesauce would make a “glurp glurp” here and a “glurp glurp” there. “Here a glurp, there a glurp,” etcetera.

  9. I don’t mean to be too critical of young Squirrely but Chicken Nugget and Crow are the same thing. I’ll let the hot dog / horse thing slide as he could be referring to tofu dogs, but still….

  13. I actually said “Oh that’s awesome” to the screen after reading Octagon.

    I found it more awesome that the hot dog was “yum yum” yet the chicken nugget was “bock bock”.

    If only the octagon could speak…

  14. I am still overwhelmed at the coolness of the fact that the farm has a pirate and a robot.

    His song was pretty much awesome…except I’ll have to agree to disagree about the hot dog being “yum yum”

  15. “Old MacDonald” is on my short-list of “Do-Not-Sing” songs. Whenever someone requests it, I tell that person that I don’t know how to play it on the guitar (all two chords). I still must point out that your Squiggle missed two important denizens of the farm: the alien and the dinosaur. I mean, really now.

  17. There’s only one reason Old MacDonald would keep such a diverse array of animals, animal products, processed foods, and polygons. He must be collecting on ever government subsidy to agriculture or the meat industries in memory! The only things he really needs to round out his collections must be, oh, an airline, a pentagon (natch), a hydrogen farm, a hybrid car, and a bridge to nowhere.

Let him know I’ll be singing his “Old MacDonald” with his perfect, illustrative sounds for each verse, in the car, every single time I can’t find something I want to listen to, which is usually about twice a day. (Please let us know if he comes up with something for the octagon. So I can ever sleep again.) My favorites: elephant, baby, bird. To dad and mom: extra credit for your small child knowing that pirates go “arrrrr” and for his immediately associating “what comes after a baby? Pirate!”

  24. Thank you for posting Squirrely’s list. My two-year old has been requesting this song every hour, on the hour, but only chooses “horsie” and “duckie.” It makes a very boring song. Who knew octagon was an option? I’ll be able to expand her horizons immediately.
