What sound do th chicken nugget and octogon make?
A Chicken nugget makes a yumyum here a yumyum there.
An Octogon makes an oct oct here an oct oct there.
ding!
Next question please.
yes, would love to know those sounds as well. an octogon! that’s awesome.
Forget the chicken nugget, what sound does the apple sauce make?
The Squirrely is a chip off the old block Matt :D
Hooray for Chicken Nuggets.
Now I seriously want to know what noises he came up with. Good critical analysis, folks. Don’t leave us hanging, Matthew!
woof
meow
{grunting noise}
moo
neigh
baa
meh
bock-bock
hop
quack
{crowing noise}
{high-pitched screeching that approximates a whistle}
gobble
caw
who
squeak
{popping noise with mouth}
ssss
RARRGH
brrRRRRRRMMmmph
chee-cheet
waaaa
arrrr
bee-boop
bock-bock
yum yum
yum yum
{Realizing he has painted himself into a corner with “octagon,” aborts song before chorus}
I take the onomatopoeic approach to strange “Old Macdonald’s Farm” requests. Therefore applesauce would make a “glurp glurp” here and a “glurp glurp” there. “Here a glurp, there a glurp,” etcetera.
I don’t mean to be too critical of young Squirrely but Chicken Nugget and Crow are the same thing. I’ll let the hot dog / horse thing slide as he could be referring to tofu dogs, but still….
Ha haha! That is terrific! Wikipedia only has seven!

Are comments messed up? I’m getting an error.
I actually said “Oh that’s awesome” to the screen after reading Octagon.
I found it more awesome that the hot dog was “yum yum” yet the chicken nugget was “bock bock”.
If only the octagon could speak…
I am still overwhelmed at the coolness of the fact that the farm has a pirate and a robot.
His song was pretty much awesome…except I’ll have to agree to disagree about the hot dog being “yum yum”
“Old MacDonald” is on my short-list of “Do-Not-Sing” songs. Whenever someone requests it, I tell that person that I don’t know how to play it on the guitar (all two chords). I still must point out that your Squiggle missed two important denizens of the farm: the alien and the dinosaur. I mean, really now.
:)
Matthew, your son is a genius.
There’s only one reason Old MacDonald would keep such a diverse array of animals, animal products, processed foods, and polygons. He must be collecting on ever government subsidy to agriculture or the meat industries in memory! The only things he really needs to round out his collections must be, oh, an airline, a pentagon (natch), a hydrogen farm, a hybrid car, and a bridge to nowhere.
Four sides good, eight sides better!
i am reading ur bolg for a old macdonald class i am taking at college. thx for some grate ideas!! lolol!!!1!
At what college is there an old macdonald class? Octogon would get you the ‘A’ for sure.
Brilliant boy! Let him know I’ll be singing his “Old MacDonald” with his perfect, illustrative sounds for each verse, in the car, every single time I can’t find something I want to listen to, which is usually about twice a day. (Please let us know if he comes up with something for the octagon. So I can ever sleep again.) My favorites: elephant, baby, bird. To dad and mom: extra credit for your small child knowing that pirates go “arrrrr” and for his immediately associating “what comes after a baby? Pirate!”
Not with an “eight eight” here?
Isn
Thank you for posting Squirrely’s list. My two-year old has been requesting this song every hour, on the hour, but only chooses “horsie” and “duckie.” It makes a very boring song. Who knew octagon was an option? I’ll be able to expand her horizons immediately.
Brilliant I thought. My 4 y/o won’t let the “oompa loompa” song go. All day long, oompa, loompa, oompie dee doo…
Too funny!
My two-year-old has added a few interesting ones too. My favorite is the shark with a “da-duh” here and a “da-duh” there.
Maybe “octagon” is a vague and slightly disturbing reference to “The Octagon” starring Chuck Norris?
Damn the internets and their Chuck Norris.
OK, now in Latin:
Senex McDonaldus habebat fundum,
E,I,E,I,O.
Sic habebat fundum, habebat boves,
E,I,E,I,O.
Sic “Moo Moo” hic, “Moo Moo” hoc,
“Moo” hic, “Moo” hoc,
Ubique “Moo, Moo.”
Senex McDonaldus habebat fundum,
E,I,E,I,O….
My brother is autistic too, and has many verses that go along with one of his favorite songs, “The Wheels on the Bus.” Said lyrics include:
The piggies on the bus go wee, wee, wee [as in all the way home]
The jammies on the bus go jammies, jammies, jammies
The [insert family member name here] on the bus go talk-on-the-phone, talk-on-the-phone, talk-on-the-phone
And so on.
I love any three-year-old who knows the word octagon!
I was going to say he forgot the ninja, but then I realized the Squirrely was on top of it because Ninja don’t make noise.
Also, @ daev: yes. =D
Your son is made of awesome.
